Thank you for all the comments on last weeks post on Manipulation and Control and I want to re iterate that this is the enemies plan, not God’s Plan. The Enemy wants to fill us with Fear so that he can rule and reign! But the good news is: “HE has given us the power of LOVE and a SOUND MIND ( 2 Timothy 1;7). He has given us Authority over all things in His Kingdom. For every plan of the enemy, God has another plan already in motion! Take for instance this pandemic, look at the good things. We spend more time with family, we meet in different ways on the internet for work, friendships and even Church and our NETweaving is expanded. We now meet and converse with people and family all over the world. We are being forced into new ways of thinking and doing and we have now the greatest opportunity to move into the opportunity of the potential of a nation where ALL SHALL PROSPER! But let’s be real, it’s not going to be easy, we have a lot of challenges coming: Unemployment, the banking system, the economy overall, record Un repayable debt, nations facing off with each other as to who is going to be in control, possible wars, supply of food, water, etc.etc.? The battle is on as to How we will think, act or react! So How do we survive and thrive in these times? I don’t have all the answers but a few thoughts to consider;
But the most important thing in all this will be hearing from HIM. We will need more and more to hear from HIM! What will I do now Lord, Where will I go? Who is part of my family? Whom do I need to support/encourage, feed or take in? God is opening up HIS KINGDOM and we are being invited to press in more and more to Him. We are told that we are not to rely on the tree of Knowledge, but to eat from the tree of Life (ie to walk and talk with Him). We cannot wait to make sense of all that is happening (logic) as to walk in the Kingdom we rely on HIS Spirit to show us the way! John for the KB team PS. Share this:Corona…World debtIt’s been a while since we have written a blog, in fact as I look back it was in 2016…..where did all that time go. How did I get so busy again??? Well now we are back in chaos and forced lockdown I felt it was time to write and encourage us all . In times such as these, we hear themes such as the sovereignty of God, the frailty of man and the call for Christians not to fear but rather to be good citizens, voices of calm and agents of compassion in the crisis. As the Bible tells us we need to keep things in an eternal perspective through these ‘light and momentary troubles’ (2 Corinthians 4:17) and remember that our true treasure is in heaven not on earth. (Matthew 6:19-21)
This is not easy to hear for those of us who are sitting in our self-isolation bunkers watching 20 years of savings disappearing in two weeks and wondering if the company which employs us will even exist in two months’ time.
It’s not just the physical threat of the virus but the fact that this is hitting a world which, even before this pandemic surfaced, was already mired in debt (global debt is now a record 322% of GDP) and had already used all its fiscal ammunition.
Most of us have never encountered an event causing such widespread social and financial devastation before.
This is why it is essential that as Christians we keep our cool and act as the agents of Christ in what we say and do….. “we are not born with a spirit of Fear, but of Love”
Unfortunately the media fills us with FEARFUL thoughts. Epidemics are not uncommon in the world.
Wikipedia documents hundreds that have occurred throughout history – resulting in hundreds to millions of death. This history of epidemics page illustrates this graphically. Epidemics are nothing new.Coronavirus is neither the worst nor the least we have encountered. But it is nonetheless very serious.
So WHY has this one closed down the world????
You’ve all heard about the conspiracy theories:
– It’s China gaining power
– The 5G plan for invading our lives
– Its the bankers, illuminati etc.etc.
– Its the excuse for higher powers to track us and control us
Are these all true? Maybe…probably in some or all, BUT;
God is trying to tell us “I will be your Backup, NOT man” “What you need is ME”!
He is setting up a clear distinction between those who follow Him and those that don’t.
It’s not a theoretical distinction but a very personal , powerful, practical distinction.
Literally we who follow him are going to have a hedge of protection, not just to viruses….sicknesses….radiation…and all other things that will come!!!!
This is a GREAT time for us!!!!!(more to come on this in the next few days)
